KJFC Brief History
Kirkham Boys was founded in 1972 by Brian Jennings, later joined by Hughie Norris, to provide football for a keen group of young boys. Supported by Kirkham Senior Football Club, they joined the BAYC League in the 1972/73 Season, entering the Under 13 Section with a very young squad of boys - click here
Two years later, Peter Woods, Eddie Brettell and Jock Timms formed a Committee and founded the Kirkham Junior Football Club. The Club quickly grew as more boys joined, and more teams were formed over the next years until the Club was represented at all ages from Under 10 to Under 16.

Since 1978, the International Youth Soccer Tournament took pride of place in the Club calendar each August, and has been visited by teams from Scotland, Ireland, USA and Germany. The lack of a suitable venue and some years of inclement weather brought the Tournament to a close in 1998.
Through the hard work of its Committee, Sponsors, parents and supporters, the Club has continued to grow, and now runs Squads from Under 7 through to its newly-formed Under 18 section. Training takes place at the all-weather pitch at Kirkham Grammar School and at the indoor facilities at Carr Hill High School. The availability of pitches has always been our biggest problem, but we are currently using the facilities at Maryfields and Coronation Road in Kirkham, and we are indebted to nearby Parish Councils for the use of their pitches.
