KJFC Where are they now?

A look back at past players and officials of Kirkham Junior Football Club......

Andrew Murphy (Player 1976 - 82)   Top-class player who went on to sign for Preston North End, before being released and played in New Zealand and the Far East.  After returning to Preston, Andrew joined the Police and is now an Inspector in Burnley.

Graham Ingham (Player 1976 - 82)   Played with Andrew Murphy in a cracking team which won the Hogan Cup (Under 13's) at Bloomfield Road in 1983, and reached the Semi-Finals of the Lancashire FA Under 14's Cup in 1984. Still playing football and running, and recently retired as the Manager of our Under 11 team.

John Calland  (Player 1976 - 82)   Captain and committed midfield player for the above successful team.

Franz Carr  (Player 1976 - 78)   Played in that same team for a couple of seasons and was the best dribbler I have ever seen. Left us and joined Blackburn Rovers before being taken to Notts Forest for a lot of money by Brian Clough aged only 16 years old. "Fantastic prospect, who never quite achieved" - Cloughie. He played for Forest, Newcastle, Sheffield United, Leicester, then drifted abroad, then back to the UK.

Michael Stowell (Player 1975 - 81)  Played centre-half for the Club, but goalkeeper for Carr Hill School. Signed by Everton, then moved to several Clubs, finishing at Wolves for ten years. Coached at Bristol City, but now Assistat Manager at Leicester City

He moved away from Kirkham some years ago, but recently made contact through the website and brought back a lot of memories.
